Nuns Bridge, a brick and stone built bridge dating back to the 12 century has recently been restored by Thor Helical remedial approved installers Ratee and Kett Stonemasons.
The bridge has been closed to traffic for some time due to the reduction of its bearing capacity, resultant from heavy spalling of the soft brick, flattening of the arches and loss of connection of the spandrells and parapet walls.
Thor Heliclal Remedial Engineers demonstrated the sympatetic repair processes to English Heritage and designed the project repair.Over 2000 Meters of Helical wire were installed in Specially formulated non shrink grouts.
