Thor Helical Remedial approved installers, Geotechnical Specialists, Constructive Evaluation have recently completed the installation of a specialist piling project beneath the foundation stones of London bridge.

Glaziers Hall located adjoining London bridge has recently been fully restored. Problems whereencountered when it was proposed to install a new lift system.The ground immediately around the lift shaftbase was some 4 ft below the level of the Thames with the water line being some 20 ft away from the site of the proposed shaft.

Restricted access made the installation of the foundations a potentially difficult project.

Thor Heliclal piles were installed using a compact electric driving rig to drive the piles 4M through the silts.Thor Helical Hydraulic test units where attached to the pile heads, to prove working loads.

A raft was then cast on top of the 16 pile grid to allow the construction of the free standing Lift shaft, all piling work was completed and tested within the first day on site.The unique pure copper manufacture of the piles has ensured longevity far beyond that achievable using less durable steel case piles.
