A: Renovating Render or a 3:1 mix of washed plastering sand to Table 5 of BS882: 1983 and free flowing OP Cement with Rendermix waterproofer.

Q: What is the best material for replastering lightly salt-contaminated walls?
A: Renovating Plaster, which is a lightweight cementitious, plaster containing polymeric fibres.

Q: What is the best material for replastering damp but uncontaminated walls?
A: Renovating Plaster, which is a lightweight cementitious, plaster containing polymeric fibres.

Q: Can I use a renovating plaster externally?
A: NO. If in doubt use Renovating Render.

Q: What finishing plaster should I use for replastering after dampcourse replastering?
A: With Renovating plaster or Renovating Render or Sand and Cement Render use Limelite Finish, Sirapite Board Finish or Thistle Multi Finish. In no event should the finish be overtrowelled.

Q: The cement I use e.g. Mastercrete, has an air entrainment agent (plasticiser) in it. Is there a waterproofer I can use which will not add to the plasticiser and make the mix unworkable?
A: Renderaid Non-Plas is a waterproofer containing no plasticiser and has the added advantages of being a frost-proofer and accelerator. It is particularly suitable for winter use.

Q: Is there a paint I can use after dampcourse replastering that will not restrict the ‘drying out’ of the wall?
A: Replastering Paint is a mould- inhibiting microporous ‘breathable’ matt emulsion designed for such a task.

A: Antisulphate Salt Neutraliser

Q: Can Antisulphate Salt Neutraliser cure Hygroscopic (Moisture attracting) salts?
A: No; hygroscopic salts must be sealed in the wall with sand cement render containing Rendermix or Renderaid Non-Plas or kept from the surface with Newlath 2000 membrane or 92 Membrane

CONDENSATION
Q: Which product will get rid of mould?
A: Mould Wash and Mould Control & Scrub Out will clean and sterilise surfaces. They will also prepare surfaces for receiving Anti Mould Emulsion and Anti condensation Paint.

Q: Is there a paint that prevents mould growth on walls and timber?
A: Biokil Crown Anti Mould Emulsion will prevent mould for years. (5 Year Guarantee) even where condensation still persists. It is washable and can be tinted any colour, but must not be overcoated with ordinary paint or it will become ineffective

A: Biokil Crown Anti Mould Kit contains 250ml of Mould Wash, 2.5ltrs of Anti Mould Emulsion, a mixing bucket and decorators sponge.

Q: Is there a paint that actually reduces condensation as well as preventing mould?
A: Biokil Crown Anti Condensation Paint greatly reduces condensation by absorbing moisture during periods of high humidity and releasing it later when humidity drops. It also prevents mould growth.

Q: Do we have anything for ventilation control to reduce condensation?
A: We have a range of electrically operated’ Daisy’ Condensation units, which run continuously and provide a positive pressure throughout a building reducing humidity and preventing condensation.

Q: Do we have anything for ventilation control that is not electrically operated?
A: Passyfier Vents are passive dehumidifiers that work without electricity. They take advantage of the differential pressure inside and outside the building and remove moist air with little or no heat loss.
